IMPORTANT NEWS: The COBRA subsidy has been extended. President Obama signed the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2010, into law on December 21, 2009. Through Section 1010 of this legislation, the eligibility period for the COBRA subsidy has been extended to February 28, 2010, and the period of subsidized coverage has increased by six months, up to a maximum of 15 months. Plan Changes effective January 1, 2010
- Under the self-funded medical plan, the PPO network for medical services received inside California will be Anthem Blue Cross.
- For medical services received under the self-funded medical plan that are outside California, the PPO network will be First Health.
- The coinsurance for out-of-network providers for mental health and substance abuse benefits has been increased to 80% of usual & customary charges. the limitation on days of service for these benefits has been changed to those that are medically necessary.
- Kaiser emergency room and prescription drug co-pays have changed. See here for details.
